6 November 2006: Edinburgh by train, low carbon travel

It makes perfect sense to travel to Ediburgh with a bicycle overnight on the sleeper train. Once there, I find out what it's like on two wheels in Scotland's capital city - watch those cobblestones! Also chatting with Ed Gillespie, who's about to embark on a round-the-world odyssey of slow travel / low carbon travel: by train, camel and container ship.

Hey Jack,

Great show! I love them all, but the best are the ones where you are on a tour, just commenting on what you see and feel.

There are lots of shows that talk about cycling advocacy, and plenty that focus on all the fancy toys, but yours is the only one that evokes the experience of cycling.

I have listened to "Dunwich Dynamo", "Xmas on the South Downs", and the Mark Ellen episode a dozen times each. Thanks!

What happened to the Ogg Vorbis Downloads?
I think Royalty Free codecs are in the spirit or resonance, the bike show and cycling.

Thanks Jeremy, you're too kind. Glad you like the show.

And I'll be sure to reinstate the Oggs, I had no idea that anyone was using them, as I can't track downloads.

Interesting that nobody at Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative would talk to you without you setting it up with their PR person first. What are they afraid of?

Hi Jack,

Long time suscriber to your pcast and enjoy vvmuch!
Agree with AP about getting a feel of cycling act.

Would you be interested in cycling reports from Hong Kong where l am currently based?

11:12 am

Hi Paul, would love to have something from Hong Kong. I wasn't aware there were too many cyclists there apart from old men delivering fish in Wan Chai... But yes, perhaps there's a secret side. I imagine the mountain biking in the New Territories must be excellent. Drop me a line bikeshow@gmail.com and we can sort something out.
